Reporting tutorial

This SmartSpace Reporting tutorial demonstrates how to use SmartSpace Reporting to create and modify charts, tables and reports based on recorded location and property history. In this tutorial, you will learn how to:

  • Create a database using SQL Server Management Studio and connect to the database using SmartSpace Config

  • Assign the appropriate user roles to allow you to access the report editor on the SmartSpace web site

  • Log property and location history

  • Define queries using the logged property and location history

  • Use your queries to create charts and tables to present the data

  • Create reports by combining your charts and tables

The tutorial has been divided into the following sections and must be completed in this order:

  • Logging to a Database

  • Assigning User Roles

  • Defining Queries

  • Presenting Data

Requirements

Before working through these tutorials, make sure you have:

  • Installed SmartSpace

  • Installed SmartSpace Web

  • Installed ODCB Driver 18 (installed on the server)

  • Installed SQL Server Management Studio

  • Downloaded the Reporting Dataset to use the types, objects, properties, and spatial relationships that this tutorial requires
