Property history

First released in version: 3.2

Record the locations of tracked assets, and their other properties, over time

Summary

The locations of configurable asset types can be recorded into a relational database and retained for a given time period. Similarly the values of asset properties and other business properties can be stored in the database.

Customers can license SmartSpaceReporting or run their own reporting engine over the recorded data.

Configuring Reporting

As part of the process of configuring reporting, Property history in SmartSpace Config is used to:

  • Configure and test the connection from SmartSpace to an SQL Server or Oracle database
  • Configure logging of required properties. The mode of logging determines what happens in the database when the property values are changed, and how long they are retained

You can find a description of the workspace in SmartSpace Config in Location and property history. For a full explanation of how to connect SmartSpace to a database and configure logging, see Configuring Reporting.
